Noticing that in /sysroot/{usr/bin,} there's data from the original install around and there's a chance that it's being used in the boot process.

Prior to install, I installed lolcat via DNF and found it after migration in /sysroot/usr/bin/lolcat.
There's a chance that the previous system is also being relied for booting. Gotta look at grub config and such with OSTree.
To confirm in a VM, I ran rm -vrf /usr /var and after that it did not boot (don't do this).
