Screen Flashing until it shuts off on Wake (GPD Win 4 6800u) #2054
Comments
Have the exact same problem, with the exact same device GPD Win 4 6800u. This only started happening after I updated the steam. As OP mentioned, when comming back from suspended mode, the Big picture Steam show as expected, but starts flickering until it turns off (only the screen). Any ideas on how to prevent this? |
I also want to say this happens in desktop mode too, not just big picture mode.

Seems to be fixed somehow after recent update. |
@wandizer I just updated Bazzite tonight and it is still happening for me. |
Hey fellas, looks like it might be this upstream kernel bug, has been fixed in kernel 6.12.9-200 just gotta wait for it to roll into fedora/bazzite, it's an issue with the AMDGPU driver. It has been suggested on other threads (and confirm this worked for my laptop running fedora) that changing power modes to performance on the desktop works around the bug. I am not sure if it would persist within game scope however and am unable to test as I cannot invoke the bug on my legion go. |
Describe the bug
When I wake my GPD Win 4 6800u from sleep, the screen flickers on what I can only describe as some kind of exponential curve until it finally shuts off entirely. I can hear the OS still running in the background if I press buttons, it is just the screen that goes blank.
Holding down the power button and shutting down the device with a power cycle is the only way I can get the screen to come back.
This does not happen on Windows and I have no known hardware issues.
What did you expect to happen?
I expected the screen to be stable.
Output of
rpm-ostree status
Hardware
G1618-04
