When you have unsaved annotations, if you drag the tab downwards it opens in a new window and the annotations have been lost without asking. It needs to ask to save saying unsaved annotations will be lost or preserve the annotations as unsaved in the action.
(In fact, the drag downwards to new window is also a bit of an annoyance, in that it happens accidentally and there isn't an obvious way to get the tab back to where it was, it would be ideal to be able to drag the tab back or use Ctrl-Shift-T, but if there's a way other than copy file path, close and then reopen in the original, it would be good to know!)

Hmm had not noticed that loss of annotations before but seems "logical"
And thought at one time? it "should" be possible to return the dragged tab (without annotations) but on testing agree not in current pre-release here was that commit add1651
