After working successfully for over 2 years, MQTT has suddenly failed on all my browsers on all my devices, whether connected via wifi or mobile network. I have not knowingly changed anything. Weewx log is showing that the mqtt data has been successfully published, although I have not been able to subscribe to it via an independent mqtt client. I am using a public account at emqx.io.
It appears to download mqtt data once just before issuing the Live Updates have stopped message
The sequence is as follows.
I open a new browser window connected to my website
The line under Current Weather Conditions displays
"I am Connected. Waiting for data. Last updated at 18 September 2023 11:20:00"
It waits for data that is never refreshed
After approx. 30 minutes, the line under Current Weather Conditions changes to
"Live Updates have stopped. Last Update 18 September 2023, 11:55:08" followed by the Continue Live Updates button
The error message from the console in developer mode is:
paho-mqtt.min.js:37 WebSocket connection to 'ws://broker.emqx.io:8083/mqtt' failed: Close received after close
Presumably because the updates have timed out after 20 minutes; my disconnect is 180 seconds
Is anyone able to help me resolve this? In order to rule out my weewx configuration, It would be useful to know if anyone else experiences this on my website - http://lordshipweather.uk
Thanks in advance
Michael
