Omit language prefix in global links and examples

Links within examples such as rh-footer include the /en/ language prefix, but is it needed? can't redhat.com determine the internationalization prefix on its own and let examples omit them? if it's recommended to default to /en, can we please document reasons and/or how to change within examples?
