I just became a PETSCII-Addict and tried out some tools. For me, Petmate fits best. It is a great tool and I like the clean userinterface. Using it for a while now, I had some ideas, what would make it even better in my eyes. I thought, I will share my "whishlist" with you... ;-)

  • Layers

  • Colour-Brush (like the Brush-Tool, but just using the colour-information)

  • Brush with transparency (Just copy the chars that are used, mask out the unused)

  • Lasso-Tool for Brush, or the option to only use selected chars as a brush, not only a rectangular selection with all chars

  • Change size of canvas at any time (right now, when I see that my canvas is getting too small for my artwork, I have to generate a new (bigger) canvas an then copy everything over to it

  • Possibility to put a JPG/PNG in the Background as template

  • Text only mode (Like Char only - write text without changing the colour)

  • scrollable PRG-Export of canvas bigger than one screen

  • customizable char-palette (possibility rearange it as desired)

  • Plus 4 support (more colours)

  • C128 support (80 column)

  • Draw mode for 80 x 50 „pixels“ using the corresponding PETSCII-Chars

  • search and replace for colours (search everything blue and make it red…)

  • search and replace for chars

Anyway, PETMATE already is a great tool! Keep the good work!
