Simple question, you cannot. As one the main goals of the generator is to provide meaningful integration with popular libs such Bootstrap, Ionic and Material with possibility to customize the theme, we has to stick with Sass as all of these libs use Sass and not Less.
But do not fear that, Sass and Less are very similar syntax-wise apart for the variable prefix 😉
