Can you add an option to rename the current image?

Unfortunately, years ago, I submitted a plugin "Rename-file" for Xviewer-plugins, but Mint refused it. :(

It still works, but you have to install it manually. You can find it here : https://github.com/vgstef/xviewer-plugins/tree/rename-file/plugins/rename-file

You need to put those 2 files in the folder /usr/lib/xviewer/plugins

Then in Xviewer, go to Edit -> Preference -> Plugins and tick the Rename-file plugin.

To rename, you can press F2 or go in menu Tool -> Rename

I would also find it useful, in any gallery software for that matter, including that on smartphones, since their camera software generates generic file names with time stamps, and I would sometimes like to quickly add a note to the file name to make it easy to find without having to dig my way to the camera folder every time in a file manager.

Not an ideal solution but if you select "File/Save As,,," and then right-click on the file name (which is highlighted to make it easy to spot) in the folder window the option to rename the file is offered. (Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon, xviewer 3.2.7)
