That sounds a bit risky: it might have a big performance impact, and could require additional dependencies. If it's lightweight and does not require more dependencies, I'm all for it.

Idea for a possible broader theme within the software (think wine): pince means pliers in French (same etymology as to pinch) and derivatives. Pliers are a handy tool :)

Completely forgot about this one. Yeah, I used to be really enthusiastic about demo scenes and warez groups back in the day. It's not really obligatory but could be nice if something lightweight could be done for this purpose

Dependencies could cause some problems that's right, maybe something external to pince... idk maybe like an embedded video or something

Ah, okay, I hadn't seen the date on the issue. I commented because I had read the corresponding text in PINCE's information window.

I was thinking more along the lines of a raytraced pliers model or other PINCE logo rendered in ascii art. Code for this could be relatively fast with no external dependencies. Fun to work on, but definitely not required nor a priority, I think. It could be an easter egg instead too :)

Ah, I was confused for a moment, as pince is a bash script on my system. I had to attach to the actual python process.
