While a poetry project sits at the top of the main branch and hasn't been released yet, it would be great to have its version with a -dev or .dev suffix.

That way, when users are playing with the bleeding edge version of a project, there is a hint in the version number.

Better: append the git revision if we're in the context of a clone.
