Hi!

I got a new Fitbit smartwatch (Sense) and I tried getting "my" old clockfaces back over the Gallery.

I am missing Terminal really much. Is there a reason why it's not longer available? Did Fitbit tell you something?

Do you need some help putting it back online?

I think Fitbit removed a lot of clockfaces from their page since it's a google company.

I liked the skin and the possibility of customizing it so much.
Many thanks!

Hey thanks for the kind words. I believe the app should still be in the Gallery, I'm seeing it active in GAM.

Can you confirm if your new device is a Sense 1 or a Sense 2? I might spot one clue that maybe I need to submit a new build explicitly targeting Sense 2

Definitely down to get this back on your wrist, thanks for flagging the issue

I've done a bit of digging and reading, and wanted to provide a quick update

  • Google definitely has put a dent in the developer side of things here. The SDK was never officially updated for Sense 2, but there are a few unofficial projects
  • I have pushed up an sdk7 branch that tried to make something buildable. I also uploaded an .fba build. I don't have a Sense 2 device to test these on and the Simulator doesn't support these devices, so I am going to have to leave it up to you to try to sideload it. I am hoping you will able to get the clock face running on your device with just a bit of tweaking on your end!
  • I am not confident Google will ever publish an official version of the app in the Gallery, but if we get a working .fba I will submit and see what happens

This cmengler/fitbit-app-versa4 repo has a README that has some instructions. There is a chance that I am missing a few changes in my branch, feel free to fork and play around. If you get something working, would be happy to merge a PR.

Keep me posted, I hope that you can get Terminal running on your new device
