This function throws ERR_FEATURE_UNAVAILABLE_ON_PLATFORM exception in Linux. More ifo at https://nodejs.org/docs/latest/api/fs.html#fs_caveats.

This unmanaged exception prevent that start event handlers finish ok and the ..loading gitassistant.. message shows permanently.

Hi @antolopez, unfortunately I don't have time to actively maintain this project anymore. Feel free to open a PR I then can merge
