@ellie-long, would love to learn more about the design of the 3d print.
What software did you use to make the CAD and STL files?
Is there anything you would recommend for those starting to learn about design and ideal goals for intermediate to pro levels?

I used FreeCAD to design it. Every CAD software has their own quirks, so I'd recommend choosing one you think will meet your needs and trying to stick with it, as though many pieces of software can do similar things, they often go about it in different ways. A great way for learning about design and ideas is to peruse files available on 3D printing sites and learning how to edit them -- it gives you a good starting sense of how things get put together.
