I have unfortunately overwritten my previous MBR partition table with a new partition table and want to recover access to an Linux EXT4 parition from the old table and some deleted files from it. Testdisk lets me select a partion table type but none of them seems to be MBR. The only one I recognize is EFI GPT which I clearly didn't use.
Which Partition Type should I select in this case and how should I proceed? Does it even matter?
