how satisfied are you with NORA so far? would you pay for a monthly subscription to use Smart NORA? how much would you pay for this service? (paid monthly vs paid yearly) what features do you think are missing from Smart NORA? would you like other integrations for Smart NORA (other than Node-RED)? |

So I integrated stripe for subscriptions. There are 2 prices available: 2 eur / month and 20 eur / year. After 1st December, users with no subscriptions will only get 5 devices, across all groups, synced with Google Home. |

ok today all but 3 lights stopped working with smart nora , but thats ok with a 12 euro echo flex I still have control. I will be honest here and say i have found smart nora to work quite well until one light stopped turning on about a month a go. Not a hope in hell that I will pay a subscription to turn my lights on. When there are free alternatives. I prefer local tuya to the tuya clould app and google is a maniac turning of sockets in a room as well as the light. Which is why i didn't want to use the tuya integration in google home. I could see myself making a one of payment for smart nora but never a subscription. There are light switches after all. |

I see a lot of pro paid user feedback. But the recent abrupt crippling of the free version was a tragic event for me. I've lost most of my google integration and have had to find workarounds for it. Like I said: I get why you had to charge and that's fine. My issue is that both the original Nora and later Smartnora were provided initially without restriction and then feature-reduced for free users. Had there been a hard limit initially with a clear explanation that the service was freemium, I would have understood and made my choice at the outset. This is also exactly what happend with services like IFTTT and Pushbullet not too long ago. When they crippled their free service after offering it for so long, I left and found other solutions. I run my smart home on a shoestring budget and really want to avoid recurring costs. To that end, rather than subscribe, I found the "other" google assistant nodered integration and created my own google app. I suppose this reduces your user load by 1 and puts the work on me to get the service up and running. I did that and it works so far. Eventually I'll migrate the rest of my google assistant nodes over to my own app's nodes and disable Smartnora. I do want to share my appreciation for the service while I used it as well as for inspiring the work to get google assistant to work so well with nodered. Thanks for that. |

I would like to take out a subscription, but unfortunately I am missing some important information about it. Maybe it's written somewhere and I just can't find it :-) Thanks for the information. Regards Markus |

Hi Andrei, got caught out when 22 of my 27 devices disappeared from Google Assistant until I logged in to the Smart NORA page and noticed that it is now a subscription service. Paid my dues and then re-introduced all the devices back into Google Assistant. Been a user since the original NORA days and the World is becoming a user pays society so this explains the way forward. I have noticed previously when the node is updated that I sometimes have to re-introduce the devices back as they don't seem to always remember which room they have been assigned to. Am I the only one who has had this issue? Howard. |

1. How satisfied are you with NORA so far? 2. Would you pay for a monthly subscription to use Smart NORA? 3. How much would you pay for this service? (paid monthly vs paid yearly) 4. What features do you think are missing from Smart NORA? The ability to identify which Google device has initiated a query so that any responses generated by node-red can be sent back to that specific device The ability to either hide lights, or group lights in node-red so that they only appear as a single light in Google Home. 5. Would you like other integrations for Smart NORA (other than Node-RED)? |

It's been a while since Smart NORA was launched and it's now generating a steady monthly cost for the infrastructure that Google provides
We're now at well over 2.3k registered users and ~1.5k online users staying connected each moment of the day.
I've been thinking of adding a paid subscription model to support the ongoing development and the infrastructure costs for NORA so this discussion is focused around feedback from users. As a payment service I was thinking of using Paylike (has a commission of 25 cents + 1.35%) so I think the subscription will have to be paid for a full year (or at least it will be cheaper) - feel free to recommend other payment services that you know and worked with.
There's also a pretty big overhead because I would need to start a business in order to accept payments (meaning taxes/accountant services/etc.).
There will still be the possibility to use a free account with a limit on the number of devices you can sink over with Google (haven't decided on the threshold yet).
So, here are the main questions:
