I'm trying to merge directories of pics and videos that have drifted out of sync. I don't want to loose any files even if the names are duplicate but the contents are different. There needs to be a way to "copy and rename" left and/or right, similar to what Windows file explorer is capable of doing (appends a copy number to the base name).
Ideally, I could choose to replace/rename left and/or right on a directory and its subfolders, and WinMerge would offer a list of the conflicts with buttons to copy/replace some/all files.
Note: This request is different from other similar requests in that the content itself is not amenable to a merge, such as with text files.
BTW: Doing the copy/rename manually as some have suggested elsewhere is NOT a solution as there are many many directories and files. Besides, anything more complicated than a button push is unreliable and asking for trouble.
