Overview 🧾:

This feature request proposes adding a keyboard shortcut in Microsoft Edge to directly create and add a new tab under an existing tab group. Currently, users must manually create a tab and drag it into a group, which can be inefficient during workflows that involve extensive tab grouping.

Current Behavior :

To add a new tab to a group:
Open a new tab (Ctrl + T).
Drag the new tab manually to the desired tab group.
Alternatively, right-click on the tab and select Add tab to group.
This process requires multiple steps and can interrupt workflows.

Proposed Behavior:

"Introduce a keyboard shortcut, such as Ctrl + GroupTap, tore
directly open a new tab under the active tab group. If no group is selected, it would open a regular new tab."

Benefits:

"This feature improves user productivity by reducing the number of steps required to manage tab groups. It is particularly useful for users who rely on tab grouping for organization, such as developers, researchers, or students."

Use Cases:

"Example:
A developer is working with grouped tabs for Frontend and Backend.
They need to quickly add a new tab to the Frontend group without interrupting their flow.
A shortcut allows them to do so seamlessly."
