* The overloaded function print: 'a -> 'a uses the type inferred for
  its argument at compile time to decide how to print it.  Polymorphic
  arguments are printed as `<poly>', functions as `fn', and so on.
  If necessary, the type can be specified by an explicit type constraint.
  For instance,

	  let fun p x = print x 
          in p (true,[2,3]) end

  will print `<poly>', but

	  let fun p (x: bool * int list) = print x 
          in p (true,[2,3]) end

  will print `(true, [2, 3])'.
