This is maybe a crazy idea, of limited usefulness ....
The distribution contains a tool which allows to display .obj formatted files. For some use cases, exporting the scene as .obj file can be interesting as well. I received this request when I was talking to an artist a while ago who asked me if it was possible to import the display of a HEP collision event into Blender.
As a side effect, one could create 3d prints of ancient experiments this way, based on the geometry databases used in their event displays ....
